Quick summary: Electronics freight covers everything from packaged consumer electronics to production data center racks. The handling tier scales with the equipment: packaged retail goods ship on standard freight, production servers and broadcast gear need air-ride, semiconductor tools and bare-board electronics need ESD-protected freight, and large-format displays need vertical-only crated transport. Call ATI at (786) 574-5774 for a rate matched to your equipment.

Data center and server freight

Data center migrations are a category of their own. ATI moves single servers, full populated racks, networking equipment, storage arrays, and UPS infrastructure across metro, regional, and nationwide lanes for enterprises, colo customers, MSPs, and federal contractors.

What we handle

Battery and UPS considerations

UPS battery strings are lithium-ion or sealed lead-acid. Lithium-ion shipped installed in functional equipment ships under Section II of 49 CFR 173.185, which allows transport with reduced documentation provided cells pass UN 38.3 testing and are protected from short-circuit. Sealed lead-acid (VRLA) batteries fall under 49 CFR 173.159a and ship as non-spillable wet batteries with appropriate marking. Loose UPS batteries shipped separately from equipment ship as Class 9 hazmat with full UN identification and shipping papers. See our hazmat freight shipping guide for the documentation details.

Pro A/V and broadcast equipment

Tour-grade audio, broadcast cameras, video walls, projection equipment, lighting rigs — common shipments for AV integrators, production companies, esports venues, churches, and live event organizations. The combination is high value, vibration-sensitive, and frequently time-critical (a show is a show; freight has to land on the install day, not three days late).

ATI’s pro A/V capacity is air-ride straight truck or trailer with white-glove inside delivery. For tour-grade equipment we coordinate with case manufacturers’ standard road-case provisions; for fixed-install equipment we typically crate at origin.

Large-format displays

TVs and digital signage panels over 75 inches are panel-fragile in ways smaller TVs aren’t. Three handling rules apply:

  1. Vertical only. Lay a large OLED or QLED panel flat and the weight of the panel cracks the glass. Crates and trucks must accommodate vertical positioning.
  2. Crate or wood frame. Manufacturer crates from new equipment are sufficient. Aftermarket moves need a wood travel frame.
  3. Air-ride. Road shock through leaf-spring trailers exceeds panel tolerances on long runs.

White-glove inside delivery is standard for these. The team brings the display in vertical, places it on a stand or wall mount, and confirms power-up. Wall mounting on drywall is a premium add-on requiring stud-finder verification and appropriate fasteners.

Semiconductor and photonics

Fab tool moves, mask aligners, wafer steppers, lithography systems, deposition equipment, metrology tools — semiconductor industry equipment ranks among the most demanding specialty freight in the world. ATI’s semiconductor freight runs under air-ride, climate-controlled, ESD-protected, and shock-monitored protocols with continuous data logging. Engineering coordination with the OEM service team is mandatory; un-shipped or post-ship recalibration runs into six figures.

Photonics — lasers, optical benches, fiber assemblies, spectrometers — ship under similar protocols at smaller scale. Climate stability protects optical alignment; vibration control protects mirror and lens positioning.

Lab instruments and test equipment

Mass spectrometers, calibrated test instruments, gas chromatographs, environmental chambers, and similar lab gear sit at the intersection of medical equipment and electronics freight. See the medical equipment freight guide for the broader clinical and biotech context; the same air-ride + climate + condition-report protocols apply.
